How a Virtual Skin Consultation Can Help Transform Your Skin

In my skin consultation journey with my clients, it has become apparent that many use products that have compromised their skin or are not using them correctly in their skincare routine, therefore not achieving the desired results.

This is where a skin coach comes to the rescue. Consider it like going to the gym. It would be beneficial if you were initially guided by a personal trainer to achieve the desired results and occasionally check in to continue progressing to the next level. It's the same with skincare, as we're fortunate to have access to so many active skincare ranges to create change. But with my 25+ years of experience, I have learnt very clearly that it's how my clients incorporate their products into their skincare routine and if the products are suitable for their skin that matters. The correct products are crucial to improve the skin barrier, which is fundamental to progress onto an advanced skincare routine.

One positive outcome of this current pandemic is that it has opened our minds to working virtually, which means video skin consultations. A discussion follows showing two such video consultations and the outcomes that resulted for the clients.

Is it possible to reverse ageing skin through virtual skin support?

Let's introduce you to Mary, who initially purchased an anti-aging kit. We contacted her to ensure she knew how to use the kit. Mary stated that she had no idea and was looking for ways to reduce her lines and pigmentation because she had tried so many products, and none of them seemed to work. Mary lives in a rural area of New South Wales and cannot visit salons regularly. Mary also mentioned that she works outside and that her skin is constantly being exposed to the environment.

The following issues were discussed and a call to action was planned to deal with these concerns.

All of the products were used for four months, and during this time, we did three skin consultations. As you can see in the photo below, the skin is brighter, firmer, the deep lines have reduced, the eye area has brightened, and the skin is more youthful overall. In fact, I had to double-check with Mary that no injectables or skin treatments had been used since beginning this skincare regimen, as I wanted these before and after photos to be completely genuine. Mary confirmed that the results were entirely due to the products used.

Introducing Jelena, who approached Time Out Beauty by her friend's recommendation, as she was frustrated with her skin. It was becoming so problematic that her products seemed to be making the skin more compromised and reducing her skin confidence. Once I received all her photos and skin routine, we started video consulations.

5 calls to action to clear skin and regain skin confidence

I wanted to find out what products Jelena was using to ascertain what was causing her some problems. With a view to adjusting her skincare routine to solve her problems and to suit her lifestyle, the following calls to action were implemented:

• Stop using products that are likely to compromise the skin
• Introduce Vitamin B: Begin by introducing niacinamide Vitamin B3 and using anti-inflammatory products to strengthen the skin's barrier. Treatment began with the Synergie Skin Anti-Redness Kit.
• Improving the skin's microbiome - by using a topical pro and prebiotic serum; therefore, the Synergie Dermiotic morning and night were used as a pre-serum.
• Improve Omega Oil intake in the diet: Bestow Beauty Plus Oil was consumed daily, focusing on internal health to rebalance oils and reduce the sticky congesting oils.
• Reduce breakouts and toxins -  by reducing toxins within the skin and improving fibre and gut health. Bestow Gut Love+ Powder was introduced daily.

After four weeks, Synergie Blemish Control Kit was introduced. Vitamin A serum is applied two to three times a week, and Reveal (exfoliating serum) is applied two to three times a week.

The skin improved quickly, and the results can be seen after only eight weeks. We had four virtual skin consultations to ensure that we could achieve the desired results.
